Joy believes that life can be complicated and challenging. In a safe counseling space, she helps her clients explore the challenges they encounter, examine their strengths, develop their counseling goals and choose the tools to meet those goals together.
Upholding the belief that clients are the experts on their lives, Joy aligns herself with a person-centered counseling theory and incorporates Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Family Systems practices in counseling. She works with women, men, adolescents, between the ages of 14 and 18, and families.
